Changes for taxi, private hire or scrap metal licence applications from April 2022 What you need to do to meet new rules if you're applying for a taxi, private hire or scrap metal licence on or after 4 April 2022?
The two-month countdown has begun for all cab drivers to get ready. The new licensing process from HM Revenue and Customs will be coming in April 2022, which requires a thorough tax check before you can renew your taxi/cab licence!
You’ll need to complete the tax check when you renew your licence as a:
Driver of a taxi (hackney carriage)
Driver of a private hire vehicle (and dual licences)
Private hire vehicle operator
Scrap metal dealer mobile collector
Scrap metal dealer site.
HMRC has worked closely with sector representatives and licensing bodies to communicate the changes and to support those affected.
Act now, you must check whether your HMRC records are up to date! At Pro Tax Plus Accountants, we can help to ensure you're ready for the upcoming changes!
The two-month countdown has started for cab drivers who are required to go through a rigorous licensing process from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). The new check will be completed when they renew their licenses, which is happening soon! Speak to us, we're here to help!
